The Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Office of Public Affairs is looking for an innovative individual to join our creative communications team!  This position is located in Madison on the west side (4802 Sheboygan Avenue) near the Hilldale shopping center.

Job Duties:  
This position is part of our Creative Communications team and will focus on print and electronic product design, plus photography and production. Activities include planning and designing a variety of complex communication products for both internal and external communication, including posters, brochures, electronic books, displays, reports, static web graphics, animated web graphics, Power Point presentations and other items. For print items, this position will need to support creative and pre-press processes, using industry-standard desktop publishing tools. This position will also perform some photography and photo editing activities and assist with video shoots.  This position works directly with customers from all department levels.

Job Requirements:

A minimally qualified applicant will have:
· Experience using design software to perform graphic, print, web and electronic design work
· Experience with electronic layout, print proofs and prepress preparation
· Customer service experience

A well qualified candidate will also have experience with digital media (audio, video, photo) production and editing technologies/techniques and experience using eBook design techniques/software.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:  

• Extensive knowledge of graphic, print, web and electronic design concepts
• Extensive knowledge of electronic layout, print proofs and prepress preparation
• Extensive experience using design software to prepare artwork for print and electronic media
• Must know how to make copy edits, spell and proof work
• Ability to effectively communicate creative concepts through the various print, web and other display mediums
• Considerable skills and knowledge of verbal and written communication
• Ability to generate highly creative work
• Ability to maintain high levels of customer service
• Knowledge of digital media (audio, video, photo) production technologies and techniques
• Knowledge of photo editing techniques and software
